All you need to know about skin aging

Our skin is made up of three different layers:

  • the epidermis, the most superficial layer, which includes the stratum corneum which together with the hydrolipidic film acts as a protective barrier;
  • the dermis, the intermediate layer, rich in hyaluronic acid and composed of fibroblasts, which have the task of producing collagen and elastin;
  • and finally, the hypodermis, the deepest layer rich in fat cells.

An elastic, toned and luminous skin is the dream of every woman and, let’s face it, also of every man. A relaxed, radiant skin with a young and beautiful appearance also positively influences social behavior; very often having beautiful skin makes us appear more confident, gives us a serene and relaxed look.

The passing of time, however, is the main enemy of an elastic and radiant skin. Over the years, in fact, the skin tends to change, influenced both by intrinsic factors such as genetic predisposition and hormonal change and by extrinsic or environmental factors such as UV rays, pollution, an unhealthy lifestyle, a little varied diet.

This inevitable change, which begins around 25 for women and 30 for men, takes the name of skin aging. The main causes of the signs of skin aging are determined by the reduction in the production of the hydrolipidic film by the sebaceous glands, the reduction in the production of hyaluronic acid, essential to ensure hydration and tone and the reduction in the production of collagen, essential for the elasticity and texture.

The main consequences are dry, dehydrated and dull skin tone, loss of tone and elasticity, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, which are the most significant and obvious signs of skin aging.

Skin Aging: the main factors involved

Hyaluronic acid

Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide capable of attracting and retaining large quantities of water; this feature is responsible for its biological function: it is in fact one of the main components of skin hydration.

It appears as a clear and sticky substance, which abounds mainly in the skin, synovial fluid and connective tissue. At the skin level, hyaluronic acid is involved in maintaining hydration and tone of the dermis, in particular, it hydrates dry skin, slows down the aging process and accelerates wound healing.

Collagen

Collagen is a structure formed by a repeated sequence of three amino acids: glycine, proline and hydroxyproline. Vitamin C is a fundamental element in the synthesis of collagen within the human body

In addition to the dermis, collagen is present in bones, cartilages, ligaments, tendons, hair and in general wherever there is connective tissue.

Collagen fibers essentially perform a mechanical function of scaffolding and supporting the skin, they are flexible but extremely resistant to traction. In young skin, collagen is able to bind to the water present in the extracellular matrix, expanding and giving it firmness and hydration.

Elastin

Elastin is a protein structure made up of four amino acids: proline, glycine, alanine and valine. It is one of the main constituents of the extracellular matrix, the external part of the cells, responsible for the elasticity and resistance of the tissues. Its main feature is, in fact, to provide elasticity and resilience to the skin tissue.

Together with collagen, it represents the main factor for the flexibility of the connective tissue. In the event of contraction and stretching, in fact, the elastic elastin fibers have the ability to return to their original size, just like an elastic.

Unlike most of the body’s proteins, which are subjected to continuous renewal, elastin does not seem to renew itself over the course of life, which makes it particularly valuable. Oxidative stress, inflammation, and sun exposure progressively degrade the elastin fibers, decreasing its concentration in the matrix. This makes the skin not very elastic, emptied with a little toned appearance.

Skin aging

As the years go by, the amount of hyaluronic acid in the dermis decreases, thus losing the natural source of hydration.
Furthermore, the number of fibroblasts is reduced, and with them the production of collagen. This causes loss of firmness and elasticity, the collagen and elastin fibers already formed begin to degrade faster, the skin structure is weakened and begins to yield and lose support, the dermis begins to lose volume and thin.

At the level of the epidermis, there is a reduced production of sebum, a thinning of the hydrolipidic film which leads to an increase in skin dehydration. More or less deep wrinkles appear and there begin to be areas that present skin laxity and gravitational wrinkles, of which a classic example is the double chin or the drooping eyelid.

Is it possible to counteract skin aging?

A good starting point for trying to counteract the inevitable skin aging is represented by the following indications:

  • follow a varied diet rich in fruits and vegetables, therefore in minerals and vitamins
  • drink at least 1.5 liters of water per day
  • avoid cigarette smoke
  • avoid exposing yourself to the sun without any protection

However, these measures, although necessary conditions, are not sufficient in most cases. It is necessary to act in a targeted manner through an integrated anti-aging treatment that acts both on the epidermis, thanks to topical treatment, and on the dermis with systemic treatment.

The ideal would be to act from the outside through a specific anti-wrinkle face cream and from the inside through an anti-aging supplement that provides our body with the essential active ingredients for proper nourishment of the dermis, in particular collagen and hyaluronic acid.

A complete beauty treatment: RE-COLLAGEN®

RE-COLLAGEN® is a complete IN & OUT beauty treatment that consists of

  • a nutraceutical, which guarantees systemic action thanks to its active ingredients;
  • one the anti-aging cream, which, thanks to its liposomal active ingredients, manages to go deep, guaranteeing nourishment and deep hydration.

RE-COLLAGEN® Daily Beauty Drink is composed of an absolutely unique patent developed in the PromoPharma® laboratories. Its peculiarity lies in its innovative formulation: it is, in fact, a concentrate of active ingredients that are the basis of the endogenous synthesis of collagen.

Most of the products on the market offer supplements that contain collagen obtained from animal carcasses or fish; this makes the bioavailability of the active ingredient limited as, once ingested, the collagen must be digested, broken down and once absorbed, reconstituted.

Thanks to RE-COLLAGEN® Daily Beauty Drink, all this complex mechanism is nothing more than a vague reminder of a somewhat obsolete and unsustainable integration philosophy. RE-COLLAGEN® Daily Beauty Drink is in fact a powerful booster based on ABC Complex® (amino boost collagen complex), a complex of Proline, Glycine and Hydroxyproline, which together with vitamin C stimulate the endogenous production of collagen and elastin.

It also contains hyaluronic acid, MSM, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Silicon. The formulation based on amino acids – and not based on preconstituted proteins – guarantees, on the one hand, a greater bioavailability of the active ingredients, bypassing part of the digestive process, and on the other hand it reduces any risk deriving from animal or fish carcasses, being the three amino acids, obtained through a fermentation process on a vegetable substrate.

Hyaluronic acid gives skin firmness and hydration, vitamin C and MSM facilitate the synthesis of collagen, while vitamin E and silicon help prevent the oxidative stress responsible for the degradation of collagen fibers already formed.

RE-COLLAGEN® Anti-Age Daily Lift is a moisturizing cream that contains ABC COMPLEX® liposomal, high purity hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Acmella Oleracea extract.

Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant capable of counteracting skin aging and stimulating the synthesis of collagen.

Vitamin E is able to slow down photoaging and the degenerative action of free radicals on cells, protecting their structure.

Acmella Oleracea extract contains spilanthol, a molocule that can act locally on the skin as a muscle relaxant, stimulating, reorganizing and strengthening the collagen network. The result is a more elastic and luminous skin that is more relaxed, less flaccid and more turgid with a botox-like effect.

Who is the RE-COLLAGEN® treatment suitable for?

Women and men who want to prevent the signs of aging or visibly improve the appearance of skin already marked by skin aging

When to use it?
