Liposomes are spherical vesicles composed of one or more layers of phospholipids containing various substances, such as iron, calcium, and glutathione. These improve the absorption and bioavailability of the substances they contain because they pass through the digestive system, "protecting" their contents, and are absorbed in the intestine, as they are made of phospholipids, just like our cell membranes.
